X Factor Germany

Music superstars like Leona Lewis and Paul Potts have been discovered at X Factor, one of the most successful music casting shows in the world. RTL, VOX and Grundy Light Entertainment have brought the show’s success to Germany.

What makes X Factor so special? The three jurors, all experienced musicians, draft a team of contestants and become their mentors through all four stages: auditions - boot camp - judge’s house - live shows. The jurors root for their favorites and thus compete against each other. They help candidates to perfect their performance and make a way through to the show’s grand finale.

The winner signs a record contract and lands career in show business. Who will it be? Certainly, an original talent able to turn into a music star. That’s what we call ‘X Factor’!

Leona Lewis, X Factor winner of 2006, has added 16 platinum records to her collection. She is known for her number one hit Bleeding Love. Leona’s debut album sold worldwide over six million times. The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke (2008) already has her over-the-top platinum debut album. Likewise, bands like the Boygroup JLS emerged as stars from the show. The finalists of 2008 are now number one in England, both with the title song and their album.

X Factor is currently successful in 18 countries. In Germany, the show is produced by GRUNDY Light Entertainment for VOX TV channel. German-wide casting tour for the first season ended up as a real onslaught and the casting ceremony was amazingly huge. The tour turned out to be a complete success - exciting, emotional and sometimes tearful. Same stories repeated in 2011 and 2012 during the casting for the show’s Season 2 and 3.

  • There are 51 versions of the show worldwide;
  • Producers create emotional backstories for each contestant;
  • Apart from general casting, the show has talent hunters who spot promising singers.
